The Spirit
This sevenths edition of the Festival de la Voix is proud to venture down paths that fork in diverging directions with surprising detours. The City of Chateauroux passionately confirms its commitment to the heart of the Choral Arts today.
The Festival reaffirms and builds on its international standing this year with artists arriving from Finland (an Opening with Pop!), from Great Britain (once again, and forever pop), from Spain's Basque Country (creatively avant-garde), Estonia (the nation that sings) and from France (assured refreshment).
We shall attempt to tame and seduce your delicate ears, still rocked gently by so many secular masterpieces.
New cultures will colour our concerts and workshops with exceptional encounters: the great master, Veljo Tormis, compositions of conquering lyricism and, not to forget, the workshops with unanticipated, surprising poetic promise.
We look forward to seeing you in Chateauroux, allegro giocoso, to hear the best in vocal music, with a catalogue of sweet exuberance, tinted with improbable language and unveiled melancholy.
Loïc Pierre, Artistic Director
Régis GATTIN, President
Céline MOREL-BRINGOLLET, Director’s CEPRAVOI, co-manager of the Festival

In this, the age of communication, our voice remains the most powerful tool, the most human and, certainly, the most colourful. It can take on all of the creative forms, particularly in contemporary music where it is the easiest instrument to employ. One's voice is the reflection of one's body and soul. It is the primary link among all cultures.
his is this virtue which inspired me to create this festival, to explore all of the capabilities and richness of these two magic chords that each or us possess without necessarily realising all they can do...
Now, Sing Out and Long Live this young and joyous, five-year-old festival that is rapidly sprouting, thanks to its father, Loïc Pierre, and its mother, CEPRAVOI, under the direction of Céline Morel-Bringollet, as well as all of the members of the association, and, of course, all of you, who, through your support, are part of this wonderful family!
